Seeing Financial Direction

Most financial decisions are made with limited visibility into their long-term impact. Signals tend to arrive after commitments are made, when options are already constrained and there is little room to adjust course.
Trovela is built on a different belief. Understanding should come before commitment, and that seeing direction matters as much as knowing one’s position. The Vela Score® exists to make that direction more visible, helping surface how present decisions may shape future possibilities.

Designed for Orientation, Not Judgement

The Vela Score® exists to support understanding at the moment decisions are being considered, along with their future impacts. It reflects financial health and direction over time, offering context and perspective rather than a single pass-fail judgment. It is not a verdict, a ranking, or a measure of personal worth. Its role is to make direction more visible so individuals can better understand the implications of their choices as decisions are being explored, before obligations are made.
This orientation changes the nature of engagement for financial services. Members and clients arrive with greater context, better questions, and a clearer sense of what they are navigating. The score does not replace guidance or advice; it supports more meaningful participation in decisions that shape long-term outcomes.

Member-First by Design

The Vela Score® is oriented toward the individual it represents. Its purpose is to support understanding from the member’s point of view, particularly as they navigate decisions that influence future stability, flexibility, and opportunity.
While the score may surface signals that relate to risk, it remains anchored to the member's interest. Its purpose is to inform the individual's own understanding and decisions, not to serve as a tool for comparison against others. It remains anchored to the member's interest. Visibility Across Your Options

Many financial decisions are shaped by incomplete understanding at the moment they are made. The challenge is not intent, but clarity: understanding how decisions may shape the future one is working toward.
By shifting visibility earlier in the decision process, the Vela Score® helps make the trade-offs between different paths more apparent, so options can be weighed against one another while they are all still open. It does not seek to predict outcomes or prescribe behavior. Its role is to provide context that supports reflection and consideration, whether independently or with support, at the point where understanding can still influence direction.

Built to Work Alongside, Not Replace

The Vela Score® is not positioned as a replacement for existing financial frameworks. It is intended to sit alongside them, offering an additional perspective focused on direction, context, and long-term considerations, which are often difficult to understand and appreciate in the moment.
Any use of the score beyond the individual happens only with their explicit permission. Where that permission is given, its insights can support broader conversations with professionals or institutions, while the score itself stays centered on the person it represents.

From Visibility to Understanding

Visibility alone does not lead to understanding. What matters is whether what is made visible can be interpreted clearly enough to inform meaningful choice.
The Vela Score® supports that alignment. By making direction clearer, it creates space for better questions, more thoughtful engagement, and decisions that reflect longer-term priorities. Not by telling people what to do, but by giving them a way to set their own course and make adjustments when needed, with as much or as little guidance as they choose.
